EcoReef®, in partnership with Fulton Hogan and Masterton District Council, is proud to be recognised as the winner of the Best Public Works Project Under $2 Million at the 2025 IPWEA Aotearoa | New Zealand Excellence Awards.

Presented at the prestigious IPWEA Excellence Awards Gala Dinner, this award celebrates outstanding achievements in public works engineering across Aotearoa. The winning project showcased the successful application of EcoReef® technology in post-cyclone road repairs – delivering a resilient, sustainable solution to restore vital infrastructure in the Masterton District.

As the peak body for public works engineers in New Zealand, IPWEA Aotearoa annually honours projects that demonstrate technical excellence, innovation, and meaningful community impact. The EcoReef® and Fulton Hogan collaboration stood out for its practical, cost-effective approach to erosion control and infrastructure resilience in a challenging post-disaster environment.

The award highlights the strength of partnerships between councils, contractors, and suppliers in delivering public works that serve both people and the environment.

The IPWEA Excellence Awards Gala Dinner is more than a ceremony – it’s a celebration of the passion, expertise, and collaboration that define New Zealand’s public works and asset management sector. Attended by professionals from across the country, the event recognises the people and projects shaping the future of infrastructure.

EcoReef® is honoured to be part of a project that reflects the values of innovation, sustainability, and community-focused engineering. We extend our congratulations to all award recipients and thank IPWEA Aotearoa for recognising the impact of this important work.
